Munaf Sabeeh, chief executive officer of Scopesky Communications, has announced that Iraq’s first commercial data centre will be ready in mid-December, Meed has reported. Built at Baghdad airport for security reasons, the fibre-optic ISP is connected to two gateways, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, with plans to sign up Jordan soon as the third gateway, he said. Iraqi Telecoms and Post Co will take a 20% to 30% revenue share and has the rights to sell the capacity.
