HP recently acquired Germany based Hiflex Software GmbH, which provides specialised software solutions for web-to-print and management information systems solutions for printing services. With this acquisition HP expects the solutions and technologies from Hiflex stable will enable continued innovation across HP’s imaging and printing offerings and will extend the company’s portfolio of cloud-based technologies and solutions. HP Middle East join hands with the Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) E-Government Authority to launch the HP Planet Partners programme, which is expected to improve sustainability and recycling in the emirate. “The Ras Al Khaimah E-Government Authority has always been at the forefront with initiatives that help save the environment by re-using and recycling of thousands of printers throughout the various RAK government departments and ministries, has become the first government department in the emirate to cooperate with HP Middle East in this important environmental programme.
Lexmark recently signed an agreement to provide composite printing and imaging solutions for across its region-wide network of MAF Retail and the deal covers the nearly 70 Carrefour Hypermarkets and Supermarkets across 8 Middle Eastern countries including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan and the company’s corporate headquarters. The deal with provide provision of all necessary printing and imaging solutions needed by the group’s operations, including printers, cartridges, imaging, recycling and maintenance services in all outlets and Lexmark will remove all current products at their end-of-life and replace them with Lexmark devices to meet future requirements of MAF Retail group.
Cisco signed Xerox Managed Print Services to manage its print operations across the globe with more than 460 Cisco offices, making printing services easily accessible to employees working from different locations, using a variety of desktop and mobile devices. Xerox will provide the Cisco workforce with more cost-effective ways to produce and manage documents, improving the efficiency of the print environment by 20 percent.
Toshiba begun providing two new services linking cloud computing with mobile handsets globally in order to provide simple solutions for computerized databases, electronic data output and shared electronic data. First new service is the Cloud Printing service with TOSHIBA MFP, “e-STUDIO” that makes smooth and easy collaboration of data possible with cloud computing function for Google Docs, Evernote, and Dropbox. By using cloud computing, data can be saved directly from multi function peripherals (MFP) without having to use computers or servers, and can be output via the cloud.
