Iomega, an EMC company announced the integration of its network storage products ‘StorCenter’ with the Axis video hosting system (AVHS). Iomega is shipping the first of its NAS models with an integrated video hosting system client that enables customers to store video files locally and at HDTV or megapixel resolution while simultaneously streaming video data to a secure off-site storage facility developed by their hosting provider. Cisco today announced to shut down Flip video camera division as part of its new strategy to exit from aspects of its consumer businesses and realign the remaining consumer business to support four of its five key company priorities – core routing, switching and services; collaboration; architectures; and video. Cisco claimed to support the current FlipShare customers and partners with a transition plan, even after the closure of the Flip video business.
