Nutanix to showcase its seamless digital transformation solutions at GITEX

Mohammed Abulhouf, Senior Sales Director, Middle East at Nutanix, talks about various digital transformation initiatives and their area of focus at GITEX 2022.

How would you define your Organisation and what prompted you to participate at this year’s GITEX?
Nutanix is a leader in hybrid multicloud computing. As always, GITEX offers a brilliant platform to promote our brand. Most importantly, it’s a way to re-connect with our customers and partners at scale.

What products or solutions will be the highlight for you this year at the show?
Nutanix will be sharing our company’s vision and strategy that emphasizes that enterprises should never settle for Cloud chaos, but rather, embrace a hybrid multicloud platform that prioritizes simplicity, flexibility, and freedom of choice.

Over the past year, Nutanix has re-packaged its solutions to make them even more simple, in order to offer a consistent operating model across all types of clouds: public, private and hybrid. The company has created an easy-to-consume set of solutions to support customer’s digital transformations initiatives. The new portfolio removes the complexity often associated with offering a full range of hybrid cloud services. The simplification of packaging, metering, and pricing enables customers to easily plan for their changing needs. Customers can accelerate their cloud journey by taking advantage of Nutanix validated designs and deployment best practices for 5 common use cases around which the company has designed its solution portfolio. We are keen to demonstrate these innovations at GITEX:

• Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI): Providing complete software solution including virtual compute, storage and networking for virtual machines and containers, that can be deployed in private data centers on the hardware of the organization’s choice or in public clouds
• Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM): If an organization is managing multiple cloud deployments, Nutanix can support by driving consistent governance across private and public clouds, helping customers accelerate their cloud journey
• Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS): Nutanix supports a variety of workloads deployed anywhere – private, public or hybrid by allowing software defined storage for multiple protocols ((volumes, files, objects). This is a single point of management for all storage resources
• Nutanix End User Computing Solutions: This speaks to running applications and workloads anywhere, on any device supporting the new normal of remote work and remote learning
• Nutanix Database Service (NDB): Simplifies database management across hybrid multicloud environments for database engines like PostgreSQL®, MySQL®, Microsoft® SQL Server, and Oracle® Database

One of the key areas of discussions at GITEX will be around ‘data’ – the new currency in a digital world. Companies are increasingly struggling with managing their databases in an efficient manner. Wouldn’t it be great if an organization’s databases just worked, with all the complexity and tedium of database administration and maintenance hidden from view? We’ve done just that with Nutanix Era, a Database-as-a-Service (DaaS) solution ‘On Your Terms’. In the same way, the Nutanix Cloud Platform has made IT infrastructure ‘invisible’, Nutanix Era is a database lifecycle management software that runs on the Nutanix Cloud Platform and empowers organizations to achieve invisible databases. Era can manage databases deployed on on-premises infrastructure and on a public cloud of choice, making it a true multicloud solution ready to modernize databases.

How important is channel for you and how do you enable channel partners to work with you?
We see our channel ecosystem as a huge factor in our success as an organization. Hybrid work, subscription, and everything-as-a-service will continue to shape partner growth opportunities ahead. Nutanix is continuing to evolve our go-to-market strategies to enable partners to capture those opportunities in a number of ways.

The past year has brought many changes to the channel partner ecosystem and subscription and consumption is on everyone’s mind. This is creating uncertainty for the channel ecosystem as it looks for new ways to sustain profitability. Many vendors have announced that they are moving towards subscription but haven’t provided insight to partners on what this means aside from some new incentives. As many vendors have taken renewals ‘direct’ – we have not and will not. We have always and will continue to be committed to the channel and our distribution partners. Vendors like Nutanix who want to stay in a leadership position with the channel will be providing partners with organic customer demand and a clear path to building recurring profit over the new purchasing cycle (over the customer lifecycle, not just at point of sale). In this shift, we’ve been working to build a transition path for our partners into this new way of doing business.

Which new geographies are you targeting to penetrate with participation at this year’s show?
This year we anticipate even more traffic coming in from the other GCC countries, such as Saudi Arabia – which is a hyper growth market for us.

What key message would you like to pass on to your existing/prospective partners attending GITEX?
Partners need to expand their skill sets to focus on new technologies. In addition to the transformation required for subscription – the next wave of data centre architectures will be transformed by AI/ML, low-code/no-code approaches to application development, and more of those applications starting in cloud rather than moving to the cloud.

Partners need to find new ways to diversify their solutions and drive new revenue streams. We see that partners are looking to vendors to help build their skills sets to provide services that drive things like AI digitization through low code, no code DevOps methodologies. The next wave of innovation in how applications get developed and deployed will drive new opportunities for partners. Platforms that can reimagine how to achieve infrastructure as code will be the platform of choice for customers and partners. We’re seeing our leading edge partners working on this already.

Where can we find you at GITEX? (booth no and hall no)
Nutanix will showcase its beautiful stand H6-A30 in Hall 6 at this year’s GITEXs, where Its key alliance partners and resellers have been welcomed to participate along with the company. The focus is on emerging alliances including HYCU, ArcServ & Stratodesk.
