Pelican has protective covers and casings for mobile products on mind for GITEX 2013

Channel Post MEA spoke to Estefania Fenoy, Marketing Manager EMEA, Pelican to learn more about the company, its products and plans for GITEX 2013.

What sort technology trends have you seen in the Middle East and Africa market over the past few months?
Likewise in the rest of the world the consumer electronics are incrementally growing since end users need to be connected to the outside ‘World’ at all times. This has opened a great opportunity for Pelican Products, a manufacturer of high-performance case solutions bringing more than 35 years of experience in protecting equipment for law enforcement, defense/military, aerospace, entertainment, industrial and consumer markets.

One of Pelican’s key strategies is to expand its product line continuously, and one of the most important developments currently underway is the launch of the Peli Products consumer range, Peli Pro Gear. The Pro Gear range is a wide collection of extremely tough products for consumers to use as protection for tablets, laptops, smart phones and cameras

How has the regional market grown over the past few years?
Since 2009, Pelican products initiated an expansion plan in the Middle East considering its enormous potential within all the different key markets that we serve. So far, Pelican has grown its business in all those markets. In the years to come, Pelican can foresee a great deal of business opportunities in professional and especially in the consumer markets.

What do you plan to achieve through GITEX Shopper this year? Can you please share your plans?
Our plan is to launch, for first time in the consumer market, our new Progear range of products, a wide collection of extremely tough products for consumers to use as protection for tablets, laptops, smart phones and cameras.  The Pro Gear range consists of:

Interactive Smartphone Protection – Fully interactive mobile electronics protection for the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy. Two levels of protection are available:

  • Vault: full-enclosure design
  • Protector Case: tough, shock-deflecting outer shell
  • Protection for Tablets, with the new Vault for iPad Mini
  • HardBack Protector Cases – The HardBack series cases are built with all the legendary features of a Peli case, and all cases in the series offer anti-scratch foam inserts to add another layer of protection for delicate electronics. Several models are available to protect different sizes.
  • Backpacks – Include a built-in watertight and crushproof case to accommodate laptops, tablets and other digital gear.

Do you plan to launch any new products or technologies at GITEX Shopper this year?
Yes, our plan is to launch the new Progear range to the consumer market and, given the quality of the products, also for professional users. We have recently launched two models – Vault and Protector series – for protecting the iPhone 5; Also the i1065 to protect the iPad with an and an integrated Easel to use it hands free and allows its viewing with multiple angles; Lastly we have just launched the 1070 Case to protect 13” Ultrabook Laptops

What’s going to be your theme at GITEX Shopper this year?
Pelican will be launching several videos to promote the use of the Progear products in everyday situations, outdoor or for professional uses. In all of them our smart phones or tablet devices can suffer from knocks, drops or water spills, and so they will show how the Pelican brand will protect them so they can continue with their activities without worrying about their devices.

Do you have plans to conduct raffle draws, give away gifts and so on for end consumers this year?
Pelican Products will be selling its products on the booth so all visitors can have the opportunity of testing them and if  interested, acquiring them during the event.
