Customers can bring selected models of previously popular smartphones and tablets, which can be recycled as part of the Jacky’s Eco-Exchange scheme during the eight-day exhibition and will receive a voucher to buy any product being sold by Jacky’s at Gitex Shopper 2013. Tech-savvy visitors will have a chance to own the latest smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy Note 3, HTC One Mini, Nokia Lumia 1020, LG G2 and BlackBerry Z30 among others.
“The lifespan of consumer electronic products such as smartphones have been reduced to six months to a year, which has resulted in people buying new products on a more regular basis,” said Ashish Panjabi, COO of Jacky’s Electronics. “Gitex Shopper has always been about new product launches with aggressive bundles and this is also the time when show visitors upgrade to new devices.
“It is very timely then that we offer this exclusive recycling offer at the exhibition so customers will be able to exchange their old devices and receive cash vouchers to buy the latest products from major technology companies. In addition, all old products that were traded in will be properly recycled with nothing ending up in a landfill,” he added.
Moreover, Jacky’s Electronics has also partnered with Nikon to give away cameras every eight minutes during the entire exhibition. For every purchase of AED300 or more at Jacky’s stands, customers will get a chance to win Nikon cameras through a tablet-based electronic raffle. Among the products to win are D3100 and D3200 SLR camera; L320 picture-bridge camera; and L27 compact camera.
Apart from the daily e-raffles, Jacky’s is also launching a daily dance competition at the show wherein participants will compete on tracks at Dance Central 3. Winners will get a Touchmate tablet worth AED599 plus a free holiday package worth of AED750. Cardholders from Barclays, Citibank, Emirates NBD, Mashreq and NBAD can avail 0% instalments of up to 12 months; six months from Dubai First, HSBC, NAJM and Standard Chartered; while three months from ADCB and First Gulf Bank.
