Huawei ties with UAE partner for Unified Communications push

Huawei Enterprise has inked a distribution partnership with UAE-based systems integrator Telematics ahead of the expected Unified Communications (UC) market growth in the region.

The Middle East UC market is expected to reach $235m by 2014, according to a Frost & Sullivan report from 2010. As office staff become increasingly mobile, UC is ever more prevalent – the study revealed that more than 50 per cent of enterprises in the Middle East planned to deploy UC within just a few years.

An integrated communications solution allows users to experience seamless communication through multiple devices while on the move. The tangible business benefits of UC adoption are cost savings resulting from reduced power consumption, space and hardware requirements, as well as increased employee efficiency.

“Huawei’s channel partner programme plays a vital role in our overall Middle East business strategy where Qatar and the UAE are some of our fastest-growing markets,” said Dong Wu, vice president of Huawei Enterprise Middle East.

“Telematic, part of the BMTC group, brings valuable insights into key vertical industries such as finance, hospitality and government. Together we look forward to bringing the latest in Unified Communications technologies to customers throughout the region,” adds Wu.

The China-based ICT solutions provider has appointed Telematics as a silver-level Channel partner, drawing on the company’s extensive customer base and local knowledge of the UAE and Qatari markets. Telematics will provide Huawei Enterprises Unified Communication and Collaboration (UCC) products and solutions, specifically IP telephony, call centres and video conferencing to its existing and growing customer base.

Together, Huawei and Telematics will offer UCC products catering to large enterprises in the government, transportation, aviation, hospitality and education sectors.

Rajiv Dutta, general manager for Telematics, adds: “We chose to partner with Huawei Enterprise because of the company’s wide range of products, history in the telecom business and its interactive channel team. We look forward to developing this relationship in years to come.”
