TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings Limited, now stands as one of the world’s top-three global TV brands according to a new research from DisplaySearch.
In DisplaySearch’s most recent report, TCL has been ranked third top-performing electronics brand in the world. While in China, TCL remains the leader in terms of global LCD market share increase in the first half of 2013.
TCL ranked the third largest TV brand alongside Samsung and LG. According to the latest DisplaySearch report, in terms of total shipment volume, TCL’s global LCD TV market share increased from 5.8 percent in 2012 to 6.7 percent in first half of 2013. While, the Group’s LCD TV market share in China increased from 18.0 percent in 2012 to 18.5 percent in first half of 2013, thus maintaining the number one position in the LCD TV market.
The Group’s monthly sales volume of LCD TVs in the first five months of 2013 reached more than seven million units, up 24.9 percent year-on-year. Its sales volume of LCD TV in China, meanwhile, increased 46.8 percent year-on-year to 4.3 million sets and that in the emerging markets increased by 12.1 percent year-on-year to 1.77 million sets, representing a satisfactory growth in sales volume.
Hao Yi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of TCL Multimedia said “the company is keen on bringing more value-for-money products to consumers through product innovation, cost optimization, product competitiveness and pricing strategy”.
The surge in market share was attributed to the TCL’s successful enhancement of product mix, optimization of sales channels as well as the advantages brought by its vertically-integrated operations.
