GFK reports Toshiba tops the chart in Saudi Arabia

According to the a recent study by GfK, Toshiba cornered 24.4% of the Saudi market share of Notebooks during the period of from January 2011 to May 2011, making it the leader in the notebook segment in Saudi Arabia. During the same period, Toshiba also achieved an average rate of 78.2% making it one of the fastest growing brands in the kingdom. "Apart from the excellent GfK market study results which placed Toshiba in the lead in terms of sales unit percentage, Toshiba is also the most visible brand in the showrooms in Saudi Arabia," said John Maliakal, Regional Manager, Toshiba Gulf Computer Systems Division for the countries of KSA, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain.

Toshiba grabs MERA awards

Computer Systems Division, through its channel manager, Rachielle Araga, bagged an award for the second consecutive year at the Middle East Retail Academy (MERA) 2011 Awards. Araga won as the UAE Retail Account Manager of the Year where the prestigious award giving body acknowledges the exemplary performance and achievements of vendors and retailers in the IT and consumer electronics sector. Winners of the MERA 2011 Awards were announced recently in Fujairah, UAE, as part of the Digital Consumer Channel Middle East and Africa (DCC MEA) event. The winners were chosen based on the citations in MERA Monthly Monitor Report and votes from vendor and retail executives.

Toshiba high end notebooks for masses

Toshiba today announced the launch of its Satellite R800 series, a new range of slim, light and high-spec notebooks targeted at consumers. The series includes the 33.8cm (13.3") Satellite R830, the 35.6cm (14.0'') Satellite R840 and the 39.6cm (15.6'') Satellite R850. Thanks to a sophisticated heat management system Toshiba has managed to integrate Intel's latest full-performance CPUs into the slim casings. The Satellite R800 series models are estimated to be available during the second quarter 2011 throughout Middle East and Africa.
