NETGEAR offers universal dual-band WiFi extender

NETGEAR announced launch of Universal Dual-Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP) in the Middle East region. The new product has been designed specifically to extend the wireless range and optimize performance of any existing home network. WN2500RP extends the coverage of both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi signals from an existing wireless router or gateway, providing consumers with the convenience of a flexible and improved WiFi connection. NETGEAR announced the successful implementation of an integrated suite of solutions to help enhance the offered UAE Ministry of Labour (MOL) services of Estemarat (Tasheel Centre), a leading service centre providing web-based services for several UAE government entities. The implementation and installation was carried out by the leading vendor's partner, Osool Information Technology, after learning the requirements from Estemarat's (Tasheel Centre) and doing a thorough analysis of their operations, NETGEAR recommended the implementation of a Quad WAN solution, which offered full redundancy and connectivity via different connectivity methods.

Netgear posts explosive growth

Netgear recently announced that its net revenue for the first two quarters of 2011, ending July 3, 2011, grew by 49%, reaching a total value of $291.2m. It also reported that the net revenues from the Middle East and North African (MENA) region and the European region has totalled to $110.331m in the second quarter of 2011. The increase in revenue was bolstered by the company's launch of 17 products during the first half of 2011, strongly highlighting Netgear's efforts to build product momentum.

NETGEAR, a networking and storage specialist plans to penetrate and create a stronger market presence in Qatar’s ICT segment and has ultimately set a QAR 10 million revenue goal in 2013. The move complements the latest Qatar IT Industry report released by the International Data Corporation (IDC) stating that the country’s rapidly developing ICT segment is posed to reach a value of QAR 13.47 billion over the next two years. The report shows that the country’s telecommunications, government, oil & gas, and finance vertical markets have been identified as market segments with high IT spending which reflect Qatar’s move to diversify and increase the private sector’s role and participation in the move towards development.

Netgear holds a partner roadshow with Acronis

Netgear, a networking and storage specialist, hosted a special road show with its global technology partner, Acronis, leading disaster recovery and data protection solution provider in Dubai. Netgear partnered with ITS, a service company specialising in large-scale, IT solutions for the implementation of key wireless solutions for UAE based sports equipment and accessories retail chain, Sun and Sand Sports. The project is valued at AED200,000 and is part of the vision of Sun and Sand Sports to adopt and implement new technologies into their operations, which cost them around AED2.5 million. The installation of strategic wireless solutions will enable Sun and Sand Sports staff to utilise wireless connectivity for Pocket PC PDA's and perform key functions like Point of Sale (POS), and inventory (Transfer in, Transfer Out, Demand Request, GRN's, and Stock Tracking).
