Epicor Software today announced the appointment of Keith Deane as senior vice president and general manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective immediately. Keith will lead the EMEA region out of UK and will be reporting directly to Pervez Qureshi, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Epicor. SAP AG announced the appointment of Tim Noble to head of Emerging Markets in (EMEA region including Africa, CEE, CIS, and MENA. He replaces Bernd Kraus and Peter David who have been acting as interim lead and will return to their roles of COO cluster Emerging and CFO cluster Emerging respectively. As head of Emerging Markets in Europe, Noble will be responsible for strengthening regional capability, driving growth and delivering innovation to customers across emerging markets in the region. In his new role Noble will report directly to Franck Cohen, president of SAP EMEA.

HP has appointed Chris Johnson as the Vice President for its Storage Division in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. HP Storage Division is part of the larger Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking (ESSN) group. Chris is responsible for the overall management of the business and will oversee all go-to-market and operational elements, including sales, supply chain, marketing, product portfolio planning, channel and partner resources, service and support, and finance. He will be based in the United Kingdom.

Acer’s board of directors has agreed to take one-time action on recent findings of high channel inventory and disputed accounts receivable in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations. Acer will provide channels with US$150 million in sales allowance to clear inventory, which will result in operating loss of the same amount.
The move follows the replacement of former CEO and president Gianfranco Lanci two months ago prompting Acer to a company reorganisation. The new management team carried out internal audits of EMEA operations and discovered abnormalities in terms of channel inventory stored in freight forwarders’ warehouses, and in the accounts receivable from channels in Spain.
