Kaspersky Lab has appointed Ovanes Mikhaylov as the new managing director in the Middle East.
In the new role, Mikhaylov will be responsible for strategic planning and implementation to reinforce the company’s regional leadership in the B2C market and strengthen its B2B presence, and will be based in Dubai, reporting directly to Garry Kondakov, chief business officer at Kaspersky Lab.
Kondakov said: “Being the number one vendor among the region’s consumers offers us a great opportunity to move further and acquire leadership in corporate segment, too. This cannot be accomplished by purely developing a tight bundle of complex yet easily manageable solutions – it also requires a very strong regional team. I’m sure that a manager as committed as Ovanes is the right person to take care of the Middle East market, raise our partner relationships to a whole new level and introduce our range of new and updated security products and services to the B2B segment.
Kondakov added that: “Ovanes can draw on his own vast experience as well as the support of a great team, including Ashraf Abdelazim who has been promoted to В2В Business development director in the Middle East.”
“The Middle East is an interesting and rapidly developing market that understands the importance of IT. I’m looking forward to applying my international experience in management and sales here. One of the most important tasks ahead of us will be strengthening our partner network in the region, helping local companies boost their own business while expanding Kaspersky Lab’s customer base, and making security solutions available with high-quality services,” Mikhaylov added.
Mikhaylov joined Kaspersky Lab in 2004 as a channel sales manager of the International Distribution Department in the company’s headquarters in Moscow in 2004.
