Kodak Alaris today announced the KODAK N2000 Series network desktop scanners, a new distributed-capture platform that provides organizations with a single standardized way to turn paper into accurate, trusted digital information at every location. Available in the N2040 (40ppm/80ipm) and N2050 (50ppm/100ipm) models, both with onboard Gigabit Ethernet, the series brings production-grade image science to a desktop footprint and offers a clear upgrade path for organizations running earlier desktop models such as the KODAK E1040 and KODAK S2050.
In distributed organizations, capture is often purchased on a site-by-site basis. Related business processes become ad hoc, image quality varies across locations, and staff resorts to manual workarounds, the kind of variation that surfaces as rework, intake delays, and audit exposure. The N2000 Series replaces that patchwork with a single capture standard that scales from one desktop to an entire fleet, so every branch, desk, and counter operates the same way, and the data flowing downstream remains consistent.
For the frontline operator, Perfect Page image science, Dual-Light Illumination, and SurePath paper handling capture even folded, textured, or low-contrast originals cleanly on the first pass, while ultrasonic multi-feed detection instantly catches double-feeds; in other words, jams and rescans remain rare. For the operations manager, onboard Gigabit Ethernet and Network EasySetup to enforce a standard configuration across the entire fleet, so a multi-site rollout adheres to a single profile rather than drifting from location to location. For the executive accountable for risk, Secure Boot with signed firmware, encrypted connections, locked firmware, and digital stamping with audit logs makes every capture defensible by design.

The N2000 Series is built on the driver architecture proven across the Kodak Alaris S3000 and S5000 Series, with TWAIN, ISIS, and WIA drivers and broad operating-system support spanning Windows, Windows Server, and Linux (Ubuntu). KODAK Capture Pro LE is included out of the box, so teams begin capturing upon unboxing with no additional licenses to procure. A 3.5-inch color touchscreen, a 100-sheet feeder, wide media handling ranging from light paper to hard cards, and modular flatbed options enable a single workstation to handle everyday batches as well as bound books, fragile items, and passports. Engineered for regulated environments at the heart of banking, healthcare, insurance, government, legal, and back-office operations, the N2000 Series is now generally available worldwide through the Kodak Alaris network of channel partners and resellers.
