Samer Diya, Forcepoint META VP, explains the company’s focus on “Data Security Everywhere,” integrating AI-driven solutions to secure data across environments, ensuring compliance, and empowering businesses to navigate emerging cybersecurity challenges effectively.
What are the primary focus areas for Forcepoint today, and how do your solutions help organizations tackle the complexities of modern cyber threats?
The ongoing digital and AI transformation has clarified that data security is a critical business priority. As people work from anywhere and data spreads across various environments, Forcepoint aims to empower organisations with “Data Security Everywhere.” This approach unifies security management, making it simpler to protect data wherever it resides and however people work. By adopting a unified lifecycle strategy for securing data, we simplify security and enhance compliance. This results in tighter integration, fewer gaps, and better visibility – all important when navigating complex cybersecurity landscapes.
Forcepoint collaborates with enterprises to address the challenges of today’s cyber threats by offering robust data protection, including identifying sensitive data, controlling its movement, ensuring compliance, and preventing unauthorized access. Through the integration of AI-driven discovery and classification, we provide security that quickly adapts to emerging risks, giving organisations full control over their data security.
Could you highlight some of Forcepoint’s latest innovations introduced at GITEX Global and explain how they help businesses overcome cybersecurity challenges?
At the recently concluded GITEX Global 2024, we showcased the Forcepoint GenAI Security solution, designed to help organizations use Generative AI safely while safeguarding sensitive data. This solution offers visibility, control, and risk-based data protection across GenAI platforms, with specific integration into OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise Compliance API. By combining our Secure Service Edge (SSE) technologies, such as SWG and CASB, with Forcepoint ONE Data Security (cloud-native DLP) and Forcepoint DSPM, we empower businesses to operate securely in the AI-driven landscape.
The theme of GITEX 2024—positively forging a future AI economy—resonated deeply with us. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into business operations, keeping data secure and complying with regulations is critical. We focus on demonstrating how integrating AI and machine learning in cybersecurity can help enterprises enhance their security posture while fostering innovation and ensuring that sensitive data always remains protected.
How is Forcepoint incorporating AI and automation into its solutions to provide faster and more responsive cybersecurity?
While AI presents new risks to company data, organisations embracing AI transformation are better positioned to secure their data against evolving cyber threats. The ability of AI to analyse large volumes of data and detect patterns makes it indispensable for businesses managing an ever-growing data landscape.
Forcepoint is leading the charge in AI-driven cybersecurity, enhancing our data security offerings to keep pace with digital advancements. Our Data security posture management (DSPM) solution leverages proprietary AI Mesh technology, enabling faster and more accurate data discovery, classification, risk assessment, and mitigation. This ensures that confidential data stays protected, even as it’s used in large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT. By helping customers track and understand how their employees use GenAI tools, we support innovation while maintaining robust data protection, enabling quicker threat detection and resolution.
How does Forcepoint collaborate with its customers to ensure that its solutions are continuously evolving to address their unique security challenges?
At Forcepoint, our approach to research and development is built on continuous innovation and close collaboration with our customers and partners. We work hand-in-hand with organisations to adapt our solutions to how their teams interact with data, simplifying security for both practitioners and end-users. Our goal is to improve compliance and reduce risk, all while minimizing the burden on security teams and ensuring that productivity remains high for end-users.
Looking ahead, what cybersecurity trends do you foresee, and how is Forcepoint positioning itself to stay ahead of these developments?
As organizations continue to navigate digital and AI transformation, ensuring data security across all environments will remain a top priority. With a growing emphasis on AI, we anticipate that industries will continue to focus on these technologies for the foreseeable future. The META region is poised to lead these advancements, supported by substantial investments in digital transformation and a strong commitment to data security.
We’re also seeing an unprecedented rise in interest around Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), which is opening new possibilities within the data security lifecycle. When integrated with DLP, CASB, and SWG technologies, DSPM offers a comprehensive approach to challenges such as providing visibility and control over how teams use emerging technologies like GenAI. As we look to 2025, Forcepoint is committed to delivering cutting-edge data security solutions that enable our customers to thrive in this rapidly evolving digital era.
