UAE: Amazon, ByteDance among top tech companies to work at

Dubai’s EmiratesAmazon, and TikTok parent company ByteDance have been listed among the top companies in the UAE. The companies were listed based on LinkedIn data, and act as “a guide for professionals at any stage of their career, whether it’s the ones planning to change paths, those who are jumping back into the workforce after a hiatus, or even individuals seeking to enhance their skills,” a statement by LinkedIn said.

These firms made the LinkedIn ‘Top Companies’ list based on various pillars. This includes how employees are growing within the company and when they leave, how employees upskill during while employed and how companies are empowering people to progress in their careers.

“Given the global decline in hiring and economic uncertainty that businesses are grappling with, highlighting these employers will help professionals understand which companies have invested in making their workplace an ideal environment for talent to thrive,” the statement by  LinkedIn said.

In addition, there were also key trends observed from the annual ‘Top Companies’ list. In the UAE, the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) and retail companies have made it among the top 15 spots.

“This is a testament to the dynamic nature of the modern workplace and how the top industries are growing alongside market trends. Our data recognises companies that have remained an employer of choice in the midst of global uncertainty, while acting as a valuable resource for professionals seeking the best places to work in the region,” LinkedIn News MENA managing editor Lynn Chouman said.
