Alaa Bawab, General Manager, Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions, MEA underlines the importance of LEAP in the technology landscape in the Middle East region and Lenovo’s commitment to showcase its latest innovations including Edge, AI, Cloud Computing and High-Performance Computing, which will drive a smarter tomorrow
In your view, how has the technology landscape evolved in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and what are the major trends influencing the technology market?
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is home to a rapidly evolving technology landscape with a strong focus on digital transformation, innovation, and entrepreneurship. This is backed by active government investments and initiatives, while also being aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030 plan that aims to make the Kingdom a regional technology hub.
Some of the major trends we see influencing the Kingdom’s technology market include large scale digital transformation, increase in AI and Cloud Computing. The Kingdom is also expanding its e-commerce sector due to the demand for online shopping as well as deploying 5G networks. These trends are further supported by the deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) devices along with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity.
Were you part of LEAP last year and how you do think participation at this year’s LEAP will help Lenovo?
Given the importance of LEAP in the technology landscape for the region, Lenovo ensures constant participation. We were actively present last year where we showcased our full line up of end-to-end products and solutions, including laptops, servers, and storage. We also showed our expertise in AI, Cloud Computing and IoT.
Our participation in LEAP will continue along these lines, where we will not only showcase our portfolio, but also cement our position as a leading provider of technology solutions to the Kingdom and the region overall. This year we will be signing various MoUs with government entities and Saudi home-grown SMEs, which is a further testament to our commitment to the local and regional market.
What products or solutions will be part of your showcase at LEAP 2023?
During the event we will not only be signing MoUs with government entities and SME for future partnerships, but we will also showcase Lenovo’s dedicated infrastructure for industry sectors such as healthcare, education, environment, and economy. We will showcase our latest innovations in Intelligent Transformation powered by our New IT solutions, which include Edge, AI, Cloud Computing and High-Performance Computing, which will drive a smarter tomorrow.
What does your company hope to achieve at the end of the show?
LEAP is a key platform for the technology industry and during the course of the event we will be signing MoUs with local government bodies and SMEs, which will help showcase our commitment to the Kingdom and the role we play as a key technology solutions provider. Additionally, we will showcase how Lenovo’s IT infrastructure plays a key role in supporting various industry sectors such as healthcare, education, environment, and global economy.
LEAP is also a strong networking event, and we seek to meet future potential partners and new customers which help strengthen our presence in the Kingdom.
We also hope to further develop our offering of localized solutions developed in collaboration with Saudi based companies. We are already showcasing solutions tailored made for the Kingdom with local partners such as nybl and Novo Genomics and we hope to develop even more of these solutions to tackle region specific challenges.
