Review: BenQ Zowie XL2546

If you are into gaming and especially eSports, the BenQ Zowie XL2546 is one of the better monitors out there on the market.

The monitor comes packed with the same DyAC technology that made the XL2540 a great monitor. On the new XL2546, the DyAC tech offers increased movement clarity in-game, with improved smoothness to the overall gameplay experience.

In terms of look and feel, the XL2546 does not offer any major design changes when compared with the XL2540. It does however drop the FreeSync technology from its specs sheet – this was a very important thing for many enthusiasts out there. The BenQ Zowie XL2546 does however come with a 240Hz refresh rate, which reduces blurring drastically, thus helping clarify images during an intense gaming session.

The BenQ Zowie XL2546 is an LCD-lit 24.5 inch 240Hz eSports Gaming Monitor that comes with a 1000:1 static contrast ratio and mounted on a height-adjustable stand. It also comes packed with BenQ’s S-Switch, which lets you easily save and load settings configurations. In addition, you also get a pair of Monitor Shield “wings” that allows you to block off your view of outside distractions.

Connectivity options are aplenty on the XL2546 – you a DL-DVI, Displayport 1.2, and HDMI 2.0. Getting the awesome 240Hz refresh rate will require using one of the latter two connections, though. The monitor has both microphone and headphone jacks, as well as a three-port USB 3.0 hub. BenQ’s stand supports pivot, swivel, tilt, and height adjustments, but if you prefer, you can VESA mount this monitor instead.

If you look beyond the specs sheet, all that matters is the real world performance. And here too, the monitor does not disappoint. The 240Hz display panel holds up as the beating heart of the overall XL2546 experience. Apart from the image quality, the XL2546 also focuses on offering a superb blur-free experience.

As mentioned earlier, this new model doesn’t come with FreeSync or G-Sync like the BenQ Zowie XL2735. However, what you get is BenQ’s very own Dynamic Accuracy technology which the company claims will reduce blurs further, which are detrimental to your focus.

Gaming experience was quite brilliant with the BenQ Zowie XL2546. If you’re on the market for a 240Hz gaming monitor, the XL2546 is going to be the a great fit. The XL2546 is a responsive and blur-free beast which eSports aficionados will love for its outstanding performance.
