UAE and KSA to spend $14b on IT in 2017

Experts have announced ahead of the IDC Agile Cloud Security event that Middle East CIOs should prioritize using the cloud to protect data and apps in 2017.

With the cloud driving Middle East digital transformation, the UAE and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will spend a combined USD 14 billion on IT in 2017, according to IDC. In particular, security spend in the wider Middle East, Africa, and Turkey will reach USD 2 billion in 2017, IDC added.

Deepak Narain, Regional Presales Manager - MENA for VMware“In the face of exponential data growth and increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks, Middle East CIOs need shift from protecting the data center, to using the cloud to protect data and apps. Supporting this shift will be a new wave of simple, automated cloud-based cybersecurity solutions that can predict, monitor, and prevent cyberattacks in real-time,” said Deepak Narain, Regional Presales Manager – MENA for VMware, a leading provider of cloud infrastructure and digital workspace technology.
