Harish Chib, the Vice President for Middle East and Africa at Sophos, speaks about his company’s participation at GITEX 2016
Are you participating at GITEX Technology Week this year?
Yes, we will be participating at GITEX Technology Week. As part of our GITEX Technology Week 2016 plans, we will showcase our broad portfolio of security solutions including the recently launched Sophos Intercept X – next-generation endpoint technology to boost protection against unknown exploits and the most updated versions of Sophos Clean and SG UTM and SafeGuard Encryption 8, which can automatically respond to threat incidents from connected endpoint protection. Since enterprise mobility management is now a growing priority, we will also showcase Sophos Mobile Control 6.0, a container solution with Sophos Secure Email that enhances data protection.
What is your theme going to be for GITEX Technology Week?
We will focus on our vision ‘Synchronized Security’, showcase our extensive portfolio of endpoint, network and encryption security solutions and hold product demonstrations at our stand. The Middle East has been witnessing constant change in the technology landscape and with the new era of digital platforms, there has been a rise in sophisticated attacks.
This has contributed to the increase in security spending by companies as they now understand the value of protecting their organizations. But still there are some companies in the region that do not have a concrete security policy in place that helps keep their network and endpoints secure.Traditional security solutions won’t be able to protect organizations from present day cyber threats and hence companies are looking for smarter and simpler IT security solutions that are feature-rich, yet simple to deploy.
Will you be launching any new products or solutions at GITEX this year?
We will place the spotlight on our recently launched security solutions which includes Sophos Intercept X, the most updated version of Sophos clean, SafeGuard Encryption 8 and Sophos Mobile Control 6.0.
We will promote our newly launched partner program for the Middle East and Africa region, which has been designed to address the needs of different partners and their engagement levels with Sophos.
How does GITEX Technology Week fit into your overall regional strategies?
Sophos has been participating at GITEX as a leading security vendor for MEA and we have shared extensive thought-leadership with this platform. GITEX being the largest ICT exhibition in the region, remains an ideal platform for us to showcase our best-in-class security solutions portfolio, meet with regional customers and partners at a single venue and strengthen our channel network.
