Ahmed Sousa, the Regional Manager – Solution Architects for MEA and Turkey at Polycom speaks to Arabian Reseller about the company’s plans for GITEX this year.
Are you participating at GITEX Shopper or GITEX Technology Week this year?
Polycom will be participating at GITEX Technology Week this year. At GITEX Technology Week, Polycom will continue to enable the Workplace of the Future through our latest portfolio of video, voice and content sharing collaboration solutions that promote flexible working and create collaborative workplaces for employees across the SMB, education and healthcare sectors.
What technology and market trends have you seen this year on the Middle East market?
One of the growing trends in the Middle East market is how video conferencing is rapidly becoming a more preferred business communications tool in comparison to email and voice calls. With video technology software available on tablets and mobile devices, secure, enterprise-grade, face-to-face collaboration has moved far beyond the office and will continue to actively transform the ways in which we work.
In this light, Unified Communications (UC) is only going to increase in popularity as organisations look to reap the benefits of remote and flexible working. Employees are increasingly geographically dispersed, either across countries or across entire continents, and UC will allow more effective collaboration and more efficient meetings.
Will you be launching any new products or solutions at GITEX this year?
At GITEX, Polycom will be showcasing the Polycom RealPresence Centro, which is the first solution purpose-built to put people into the centre of collaboration. The RealPresence Centro solution introduces a brand new paradigm for group conferencing that drives deep engagement and highly productive meetings by bringing people to the centre of collaboration.
Another solution available for customers is the Polycom RealPresence Clariti collaboration infrastructure, which delivers Polycom’s powerful HD voice, content, video and web collaboration to businesses of any size. Also making a return to the show is the Polycom RealPresence Trio, which transforms the iconic three-point conference phone into a voice, content-sharing and video system that can fit into any team environment.
What sort of channel engagements have you planned for GITEX?
Polycom works closely with and offers a lot of support to system integrators and resellers At GITEX, we will be interacting with our channel partners, system integrators and resellers by providing them with an overview on new and upcoming solutions as well as sharing best customer practices on implementation and troubleshooting.
How does GITEX Technology Week fit into your overall regional strategies?
GITEX serves as the best platform to demonstrate our strengths in open, standards-based voice, video and content collaboration solutions. These solutions are engineered to create a dynamic collaborative workplace, which can cater to the needs of changing business environments. It also gives Polycom the opportunity to connect with the best minds within the ICT industry in the region and we look forward to another successful year at this event.
If you are attending GITEX from October 16-20, come and visit the Polycom booth to experience the latest technologies in video, voice and content collaboration. We are located at Zabeel Hall, Booth Z-H12 and Booth Z-H35.
