Firas Alfanney, Regional Sales Director, Intel, talks about how the company is empowering partners to deliver on expanded connected platforms.

What’s been Intel’s focus and business strategy for the Middle East channel this year? Intel’s mission is to “Utilise the power of Moore’s Law to bring smart, connected devices to every person on earth”. This year in April, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Moore’s law, an amazing feat of technological innovation that allows us to put twice as many transistors on a chip every two years.

Our vision is simple and direct. If it is smart and connected, it does it best with Intel. We embrace all aspects of computing. Our processors are inside a wide range of devices, from servers, PCs, tablets, phones, wearables, even in the Internet of Things. Intel provides a complete solution, with both hardware and software solutions for our users. Our goal is to continue growing in each segment and ensure that Intel technology remains the best choice and experience for each segment.

How is Intel helping its channel partners to take advantage of the improving business climate in the Middle East? Our ITP programme (Intel Technology Provider) initiative has continued to evolve and encompass more business verticals. This year, our Intel Solutions Summit which is for our highest tier of Platinum partners from across EMEA was held in the region in Abu Dhabi.

Intel recently made enhancement to the Intel Technology Provider initiative, what do these changes mean for your distribution and reseller partners? Distribution is evolving, and our partners are expanding in to new verticals such as digital signage, security solutions and smart devices. Hence, our programs are also continuously being updated. We really want to foster innovation and enable new business channels via our ITP programme.

What role is your distribution partner such as Logicom and reseller partners expected to play in the components space?

Components, or integration as we refer to it, is one of the three key pillars in our distribution strategy. We’ve seen our channel do a great job in ramping up sales not only of CPU’s, but SSD’s, NUC and McAfee.
