Consumer electronics e-tailer Jumia has appointed Francis Dufay as the head of its subsidiary in Côte d’Ivoire.

The announcement follows the appointment of Fatoumata Ba with whom Francis Dufay jointly led Jumia Nigeria in the position of co-managing director.

The company stated that the appointment marks a new phase of growth for Jumia Côte d’Ivoire as it plans to extend presence inside the country with new branches, increased online assortments and offering new dedicated services and reinforcing alliances with local distributors.

In his new role, Dufay will be responsible for driving the expansion of the first e-commerce website in Côte d’Ivoire. French born Dufay helped to grow Jumia Nigeria and intends to consolidate this trend and position Jumia (https://www.jumia.ci) as a major player in the retail sector. Best products, best prices and customer satisfaction constitute his leitmotivs.

“Everything we do has one goal: always improve our service and satisfy our customers. It is the only way Jumia will gain the confidence of the population and strengthen its position as the leading e-commerce destination in Côte d’Ivoire,” added Dufay.

Dufay kick started his career at consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he remained for four years. A specialist in e-commerce strategy in Europe and sub-Saharan Africa, he joined Africa Jumia Côte d’Ivoire in 2014.
