German smartphone i.onik, arrives to Middle East

i.onik_CPostGerman smartphone brand i.onik, announced their arrival in Middle East at the launch ceremony held recently in Dubai, along with their distributor Global Distribution Group.

Speaking at the launch, Dirk Karthaus, Director i.onik GmbH said, “It is an exciting time for us to enter the Middle East market as we can fill the market gap with our product offerings. i.onik claims to make German technology available at a highly affordable price. The line of smartphones and tablets are specially customised Android technology, developed in Germany and are seen featuring stunning German designs.

V.M. Chandrasekar, Chairman of Global Distribution Group, explained “We are delighted to bring i.onik, the first ever German brand in this category to the doorsteps of the people in the region. After successful launches in India, Latin America, Africa and a phenomenal journey in European markets, i.onik’s range of elegant, slim and trendy smart phones and tablets are being introduced and launched in the Middle East for the first time”.

“At the moment tablets are used as secondary devices, however we want to be at the forefront of the transformation and create the change by converting tablet as the primary device of usage. Looking at our product portfolio, I think we can aim to achieve 7-8% market share within the entire category of lifestyle mobility devices in the next couple of years”, added Chandrasekar.

i.onik range offers smartphones at affordable prices ranging from AED 149 to AED 749 and tablets from AED 199 to AED 699 respectively. The product shall be available across all the major retail outlets in UAE.

The company is introducing its complete range that includes 5 smart phones, 6 tablets and 2 feature phones.
