Intertek gets contract to verify shipments to Ghana

Vendors and Distributors from all over the world shipping to Ghana will be able to take advantage of new verification and testing services to be provided by Intertek after it signed a services contract with the Ghana Standard Authority (GSA).interteklogo1Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, signed a contract with the Ghana Standard Authority (GSA) to provide verification and testing services to exporters worldwide, delivering Certificates of Conformity (CoC) for regulated goods meeting Ghana’s import standards.

Intertek has been approved by the GSA to launch and operate the Ghana Conformity Assessment Program (G-CAP).

Every month, thousands of shipments to Ghana require testing and inspection to ensure they meet environmental, health and safety standards, both nationally and internationally.

Under the G-CAP, gaining a CoC from an approved body such as Intertek is a compulsory requirement for importers and exporters, in order to obtain customs clearance of goods into Ghana.

David Gregory, Chief Operating Officer of Intertek’s Government and Trade Services, said, “Ghana’s citizens, environment and industries will benefit from the program launched by the Ghana Standard Authority. Intertek is once again proud to be part of an initiative towards the improvement of a country’s safety and quality standards of imports. Intertek’s teams will be supporting exporters, importers and the GSA in order to ensure the success of the programme.”

Intertek’s mission is to provide the expertise and authority for exporters to Ghana with a rapid and efficient certification process through our established inspection and testing services. Intertek has a global network of services operating in over 100 countries supporting this programme.
