In the reviews, employees recognized Riverbed as a company that values and develops its employees, noting that Riverbed offers an environment that is both employee- and customer-focused. Employees also highlighted the company’s excellent product direction and vision.

• Riverbed employees gave the most favorable rating for culture and values (4.4 stars), followed closely by work/life balance (4.3 stars) and compensation and benefits (4.1 stars), while senior leadership and career opportunities closely followed (4.0 stars each)

“Riverbed is once again honored to be among the best places to work globally in 2014, and we take particular pride in being ranked by our own employees in back-to-back years,” said Mike Guerchon, senior vice president of employee services at Riverbed Technology. “Riverbed is known for great products, great people and a great work environment and culture. During the last several years, our thousands of employees have been instrumental in transforming Riverbed from a single-product company to a platform company with four award-winning product lines that help our customers embrace Location-Independent Computing to achieve higher people productivity, better leverage of global skills/resources and radically reduced TCO.”

“Glassdoor is working to create greater workplace transparency and is committed to helping people find jobs they love,” said Glassdoor CEO & Co-founder Robert Hohman. “Through the Employees’ Choice Awards, we aim to highlight those employers such as Riverbed that excel in keeping employees satisfied and engaged.”

The Glassdoor company review survey includes both quantitative and qualitative questions designed to capture a genuine and authentic inside look at what it’s like to work at particular jobs and companies. The survey asks employees to rate their satisfaction with the company overall and key workplace factors like career opportunities, compensation and benefits, work/life balance, senior management as well as culture and values.

In addition, employees are asked to describe the best reasons to work at their company as well as any downsides.
