Brocade in view of strengthening its channel sales and management appointed IT industry veteran Bill Lipsin to the position of Vice President of Worldwide Channel and Global Systems Integrator Sales.
Lipsin brings wealth of experience with him to Brocade and he has been part of senior channel management with leading companies like Arbor Networks, CA Technologies, Bay Networks and IBM.
He will be responsible for developing and fine-tuning Brocade’s world-class Alliance Partner Network (APN) program. Brocade’s APN program focuses strongly on profitability and quality of partnership throughout its entire structure which makes it appealing to the resellers at every tier.
Lipsin will also focus on enabling partners and GSIs to capitalize on key industry trends such as data center virtualization, cloud computing and software-defined networking. A recent global survey by Brocade indicates that a high 91 percent of IT decision makers feel that their data center networks will be incapable of handling future cloud computing and virtualization demands and need upgrading. The channel will be called upon to provide counsel and manage these upgrades and in the light of this, channel training programmes will inevitably be crucial to skilling up partners and ensuring that they have the technical knowledge and capabilities to act as trusted advisors to customers.
