du recently was honoured with the esteemed International Business Green IT award by the Ontario Centres of Excellence (Canada), for their significant award-winning ‘Green’ security project, which was created and implemented by the du Technology Security and Risk Management (TSRM) team.

The prestigious award recognised du’s meaningful contribution towards a greener technology solution while maintaining a highly scalable cutting edge security technology.

The impressive award, received by Walid Kamal, Senior Vice President, Technology Security & Risk Management, du, on behalf of the company security team, was presented by Hindal Mirza, Senior Business Development Manager of the Ontario Centres of Excellence. Furthermore, Trade Commissioner, Government of Canada, Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade, Eleonore Rupprecht, honoured Kamal for his valuable contributions to the industry.

Expressing his appreciation on receiving the award, Walid Kamal, Senior Vice President, Technology Security & Risk Management Technology, du, said, “Receiving recognition for technology excellence is a very good milestone for us in our continuous growth strategy and serves to further encourage our commitment to providing excellence in our security solutions. The award ceremony, which recognised du as a forerunner among end-users for their contribution to business and technology leadership, was attended by several high profile guests including the Trade commissioner Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in Canada; the President and CEO of Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC); the Industrial Technology Advisors  of National Research Council (NRC), Canada; the President and CEO of Communitech, Canada; and the President and CEO of Kids Internet Safety Alliance (KINSA), who commended du on the win and acknowledged its continued leadership within this sphere.
