Xerox's ColorQube colours Africa

Erica Marks, Bytes Document Solutions

Bytes Document Solutions, authorised Xerox distributor to 27 sub-Saharan countries, has met monumental success in sales of the ColorQube 9200 ever since it launched year back. It has been able to sell over 140 of the solid ink colour printing devices in Africa.

Nedbank, Trudon, Pfizer, among others have been the adopter of ColorQube 9200 in the continent.

“This has been a highly successful first year for us. The tiered billing model of the device was a real market challenger. This unique way of billing allows the customer to pay for only the colour they use, reducing costs significantly,” says Erica Marks, Product Manager- Xerox division,  Bytes Document Solutions.

The ColorQube also pushes the boundaries of environmental awareness and sustainability, which is becoming a key concern for many of today’s organisations. The device produces 90% less waste than that of a comparable laser device.

“Being a new technology to the A3 colour multifunction market, it was imperative that the sales staff were well equipped with knowledge and understanding about the product prior to launch,” says Marks. “We ran a successful ColorQube training event for all our key sales people from all our regions, including those from our African partners. This training event proved very effective as the sales staff left enthusiastic and well prepared to approach the market.”
