Golden Systems sponsors first PC assembling competition

Golden Systems Middle East (GSME), a regional distributor of IT products in the Middle East, has revealed that the University of Wollongong team has won the first place at the Press Play “Split Second” PC Assembling Competition held at the Living Rooms Video Games Café in Dubai Festival City. American University of Sharjah (AUS), BITS Pilani Dubai and Middlesex University were the other participating teams at the first PC Assembling competition in the Middle East, which organised by The Republic (TR), a club for university students and the youth in the UAE.

Golden Systems Middle East, GIGABYTE, Coolermaster, Cobone, Viva Entertainment, Geekay Games, Playshots and Tea Junction were the sponsors of the event.

“We would like to congratulate the winners and participants at this event. All the participating teams were good and the team that got the highest score won the competition,” says Sina Dadras, Manager – marketing and communications, Golden Systems Middle East. “We were happy to support The Republic, a dynamic student community for the Press Play PC Assembling event, which was very well organised and had a fantastic turnout. The Press Play Split Second PC Assembling Competition is an event, where participating teams had to build the fastest/most powerful possible PC within the allocated budget. The computer parts were provided by Golden Systems Middle East, GIGABYTE and Coolermaster. Each team worked within their budget to build a PC, where each part value was deducted from the allocated budget.

The participating teams at the Press Play Split Second PC Assembling Competition were judged on speed of assembling the PC, speed of dismantling the components, processing power, graphics performance, WEI and 3D Mark Vantage game. The team from University of Wollongong scored the highest marks on all the criteria to take the first place. The second prize was won by Middlesex University.
