LOOPHOLD introduces SonicWALL WXA Series

Martin Tassev, MD, LOOPHOLD Security Distribution

South Africa based leading IT distributor, LOOPHOLD Security Distribution launched SonicWALL’s WAN Acceleration Appliance (WXA) Series, an extension of the current SonicWALL next-generation firewall (NGFW) suite. The SonicWALL WXA Series consists of the WXA 5000 virtual appliance, the WXA 2000 and WXA 4000 hardware appliances and the WXA 500 Live CD.

WXA series allow businesses to select the right deployment solution for their network. It also significantly improves WAN performance between regional and branch offices, and reduces traffic by up to 95% besides  providing faster access to mission-critical applications, resulting in increased employee productivity.

Martin Tassev, MD, LOOPHOLD Security Distribution, said, “Network speed and performance, especially between remote offices can impact productivity and lowers efficiency within an organisation, a common problem for many organisations with a head office and branches in South Africa. SonicWALL’s latest addition is providing resellers with a solution to resolve this issue for their end-user customers and functionality is further enhanced through the integration with SonicWALL’s next-generation firewall technology.”

SonicOS, SonicWALL’s firmware allows WXA Series to simplify the deployment of WAN acceleration by directly attaching it to SonicWALL’s Network Security Appliance and TZ Series appliances for seamless integration.

WAN optimisation reduces the total traffic over WAN links improving network capacity and speed. With features like integration with IPsec and SSL virtual private networking (VPN) features, it eliminates the problems associated with WAN Acceleration of encrypted traffic by auto creating the routing and policy logic for remote and branch offices.

Furthermore, for wide area file services (WFS), the WXA Series provides intelligent local file caching and CIFS protocol optimisation which enables acceleration of remote file servers saving time and network resources.

The WXA Series works in combination with SonicWALL’s DPI scanning technology and application intelligence and control to speed up the network and better gauge where bandwidth is being wasted. This gives IT manager’s granular control over network data while analysing every byte of every packet of all network traffic.
