Cyberoam launches centralised security management appliances

Cyberoam today announced the launch of CCC500 and CCC1000 appliances in its centralised security management offerings, scaling to meet the demands of MSSP and distributed enterprise networks having up to 1000 Cyberoam UTM appliances.

These appliances come with an all-new firmware to support the latest Cyberoam UTM firmware versions, while housing several new features that bring better flexibility, controls and security management capabilities.

The administrator can group distributed appliances based on geographies, appliance models, firmware versions, organizations (for MSSPs) and subscriptions. Also, the new CCC GUI is powered by Web 2.0 with dynamic views for managing, searching and sorting UTM appliances along with customizable and multiple dashboards to help in quick monitoring and remedial actions.

Abhilash Sonwane, Senior VP – Product Management, Cyberoam, said, “The new Central Console has been conceived as a cost-effective security management platform for large enterprises and MSSPs. The product saves them enormous time, costs and technical training requirements for a large number of deployments in remote locations by enabling pre-provisioning of UTM devices from a central location. It also enables template-based configuration where MSSPs can define custom policies (e.g. for education vertical) to create vertical-focused policies for their clients in minimum time.”

CCC also guards against potential misuse of administrator privileges by using role-based administration permissions for CCC appliance as well as individual UTM appliances and for groups of UTM appliances. It also gives administrator plenty of flexibility by scheduling updations of security policies with facility to take automated and manual backup of UTM configurations.

It also provides the ability to centrally view and analyze logs of dispersed UTM appliances besides enhancing the threat management capabilities by offering coordinated defense against zero-hour and blended threats across distributed networks. It enables simplified enforcement of global policies for all UTM features like Firewall, Intrusion Prevention System, Anti-Virus scanning, supporting the creation and implementation of enterprise-wide security policy that strengthens branch and remote office security.
