Brazil based Positivo recently announced its joint venture with the BGH Group, through the signature of an agreement with the government of Rwanda to produce and sell educational devices under the Positivo BGH brand in the local market.
According to Postivio, this joint venture company will set up an assembly line in Kigali, capital of Rwanda, with total monthly nominal production capacity of 60,000 PCs and tablets. The agreement with the Rwandan government envisages the contracting of a minimum volume of 750,000 units, with delivery schedule distributed through five years. Deliveries are expected to begin in the first half of 2015 and at least 50,000 educational laptops should be billed until December.
The operational start-up on the African continent is aligned with Positivo Informática‘s goal to diversify its business through internationalization and the introduction of new products and sales channels. The Company is confident in the implementation of the Project, considering the solid history of its joint venture with BGH in the Uruguayan and Argentinean markets, in which the Positivo BGH brand has maintained a prominent position in major educational projects and in the retail market.
