stc will participate with the Ministry of Health in the Arab Health 2021 Conference and Exhibition. At the event, stc aims to present its key achievements and advanced services in digital empowerment, technological solutions and smart applications used in the healthcare field.
stc has made remarkable advancement in providing digital solutions for different specialities of the health sector. It has successfully launched the free application “Mawid” (appointment). Mawid is a smartphone application that enables users to book appointments in primary healthcare centers and manage, change or cancel their appointments. The application users can also manage their other appointments in any hospital to which they are referred to, view primary healthcare centers and find the nearest center to them. Users can also review and book appointments and can have easy access to medical services by checking for the available specialities in each facility. The application also reminds the users of their appointments and alerts them when an earlier appointment is available.
In addition, Mawid is the first platform to provide a self-assessment feature, which enables users to answer a questionnaire that assesses their health condition, when they have symptoms of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) contact with infected people or have travelled back home. More than one million eight hundred thousand people have been reached by the questionnaire and nearly 90,000 positive cases have been detected.
Another platform “Tetamman” (rest assured) clinics has been launched to enable the patient with COVID-19 symptoms to find the nearest facility that provides an immediate test and examination and to refer the patient to hospitals when needed without booking an appointment. stc has also provided urgent technological support for awareness campaigns with the MoH, by sending over one and a half billion SMS to all customers in multiple languages to raise awareness among them.
It has also launched initiatives and activities to support the health sector, as part of its efforts to confront the repercussions of COVID-19. Increasing the capacity of the network by distributing traffic to ensure the continuity of all daily activities, stc has offered 40,000 free internet SIM cards in cooperation with the “Attaa” (Giving) digital initiative. Costing the company nearly 5 million riyals, this step has been intended to give the less able groups the ability to connect to the internet and educational platforms. The company has also worked to enable free access to health platforms Sehha and Manaah (Health and Immunity), providing free internet and communication services to citizens and residents in quarantine and giving them the opportunity to continue their work and complete their daily activities.
