While speaking with Channel Post MEA, Ehab Kanary, vice president of Enterprise Infrastructure for the Middle East and Africa, CommScope explains that connectivity has changed the way we live and at this year’s Gitex, the company will feature the latest innovations in the field of connectivity.
Give us a brief about CommScope.
The need to be connected – to each other, to business, to things – underpins our society. Connectivity has changed the world and our lives within it and continues to do so. More than ever, we are conscious of the connectivity to keep us in touch, educates, inform and entertain us, wherever we are, with whatever device or screen we are using. We reach out across the globe to link to colleagues, friends and strangers, run our businesses. share and access video and data at an instant, mostly oblivious to what’s getting and keeping us connected, seamlessly.
At CommScope, our mobile and broadband technology enables service providers, enterprises and consumers to connect. We’re proud of our heritage that has led and continues to lead, the evolution of wireless and wired technology to meet the exacting demands and growing expectations of our connected society: the lasting connections that never let people down.
What are your primary interest areas and what will CommScope be exhibiting at the Gitex Technology Week?
Our primary interest area is networking and we continue to see networking technologies have moved from convenient to essential, for both business and personal use. In organizations around the world, many employees are working from home and remain productive, thanks to networking technology.
With workplace and home dynamics are shifting globally, and CommScope is well-positioned to tap into these opportunities through the networks of the future that we create. And, this Gitex we will be presenting a few of our recent innovations that address this need for connectivity:
- CommScope is partnering with Google’s Area 120 for Orion Wifi, platform designed to bring private, secure roaming for consumers while helping public venues solve cellular dead zones and monetize their networks.
- CommScope’s RUCKUS Cloud: IT teams can troubleshoot faster and proactively improve the user experience. These gains will continue to accrue as new machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities are introduced, making the network more autonomous and self-healing.
- Connectivity across key industries: Connecting to a university Wi-Fi network is important for students. As they bring the latest smartphones to campus, the connection needs to be seamless and support all the standards and applications. The hospitality industry is reopening with a focus on health and safety for guests and employees. The network is the key to supporting these initiatives as applications and devices are added for cameras, video, IoT and other devices. CommScope’s RUCKUS ICX 7550 enterprise campus switch series is purpose-built for Wi-Fi 6 and IoT deployments.
How do your solutions help the industry?
Across the entire business, we continue to innovate and push technology boundaries to solve key customer problems. We are driving essential programs to support our customers as they migrate to new architectures and face new hurdles.
In Venue and Campus Networks, we are addressing indoor customers’ needs with new product extensions. As indoor coverage becomes more critical with the introduction of new applications and continued bandwidth growth, we are seeing solid demand for our Ruckus Wi-Fi 6 and cloud control platforms.
Our solutions are enabling greater speeds for newer devices and greater capacity for existing devices. We now have a complete solution for both our cloud and on-prem based controllers, which provide better ease of monitoring and provisioning equipment. Our OneCell small cell continues to prove its value as we introduce new software releases with feature enhancements, and we are developing a new virtualized 5G version of the solution.
Finally, in hyperscale, our efforts to improve the speed of delivery and increased fiber connectivity flexibility continues to resonate with customers.
What do you expect to gain from the show?
We’re looking forward to continuing the conversation with customers, partners and organisations on how we work together beyond the pandemic. CommScope has been engaging industry leaders on the need to adapt to different economic environments while ensuring business resiliency.
