As a part of its participation at Cloud World Forum MENA 2014, Ericsson discussed the opportunities enabled by the Cloud in light with the significant transformation of the Information and Telecommunication Technology (ICT) industry in the Middle East Region.
Ericsson highlighted the “Real time cloud environment” and the role it plays to enable the smart city all the way to the realization of the Networked Society; Broadband everywhere, connectivity and smartphone uptake were significant elements to drive the cloud uptake to provide people with innovative services to communicate, collaborate on the go.
Ericsson’s speakers addressed the regional operators in specific by highlighting the advantages of the network transformation with cloud systems which will help the operators to gain efficiencies in operations as well as improved time to market. It provides distributed cloud capabilities such as computing and storage in the network, resulting in a better user experience for cloud applications, and more efficient utilization of network resources.
The event is took place from the 14th to 15th of April 2014 in Dubai and gathered key ICT players from the region.
