Bahrain’s MEET ICT and BITEX Spotlight AI for the New Economy

The thirteenth edition of the MEET ICT Conference and the Bahrain International Technology Exhibition (BITEX) concluded after three dynamic days under the theme “Innovate, Transform, Elevate: AI for the New Economy.”

Held at the Gulf Convention Centre, the event was organized by the BTECH Society in collaboration with WorkSmart for Events Management, with Tamkeen as a strategic partner. It was supported by leading sponsors including Gulf Business Machines, Alba, Computer World, Almoayyed Computers Middle East, and Manage Engine. Microsoft participated as the technology partner, while CTM360 served as the cybersecurity partner.

This year’s conference brought together a distinguished lineup of organizations such as the Shura Council, ThinkSmart for Development and Training, Zoho, Silah Gulf, Hilal Group, Etisalcom, Caza Souq, and General Assembly, among others. The gathering provided a platform for forging new partnerships, most notably the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Gulf Future Business and Impact Management to advance digital transformation solutions for businesses and SMEs across Bahrain and the wider region.

A highlight of the event was the recognition of Noventiq as Microsoft’s Country Partner of the Year in Bahrain for 2025. The award was presented in the presence of Sheikh Saif Hosni, Microsoft’s Regional Country Manager for Oman and Bahrain, and Amit Nandi, Noventiq’s General Manager for the GCC.

The conference also welcomed strong international participation, with a Jordanian delegation and a Moroccan pavilion featuring companies such as Works Platform, Ulteos, Synaptique, S4U, IT Road Group, Indata Core, Digitancy, AGIRH, Skatys, and Indusnov Solutions. These delegations showcased advanced AI solutions and signed strategic agreements with regional and global counterparts, reinforcing collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation across the ICT sector.

The program featured panel discussions, sessions, and workshops addressing critical topics. Highlights included “Empowering the Future: Skilling for the AI Era in GCC,” which focused on preparing national talent, and “Bahrain AI Roadmap,” which examined strategies for sustainable AI growth. Other sessions explored ethics and cybersecurity in AI, as well as the role of startups in driving innovation. Workshops ranged from hands-on Azure training and cloud foundations to cybersecurity for critical infrastructure and the future of AI agents in government services.

By combining thought leadership, international collaboration, and practical training, MEET ICT and BITEX 2025 reinforced Bahrain’s position as a regional hub for digital innovation and AI-driven transformation.
