Seagate Unveils IMETA Region to Drive AI-Ready Storage Innovation

Sameer Bhatia, Senior Regional Director – India, Middle East, Turkey & Africa, and Mohit Pandey, Head of Sales, Middle East, Turkey & Africa at Seagate Technology, discussed the company’s newly formed IMETA region—integrating India, the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa under one unified structure.

The reorganization aims to bring sharper regional focus, deeper market penetration, and greater on-ground investment. By aligning similar markets, Seagate plans to accelerate innovation, strengthen partnerships, and expand into untapped geographies, particularly across Africa and the Middle East.

At the event, Seagate showcased Corvault powered by Mozaic technology, featuring 30TB drives within a 108-bay setup, delivering up to 2.5 petabytes of capacity. The company’s roadmap includes 40TB and beyond, powered by its HAMR (Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording) technology. Bhatia emphasized that as data generation accelerates with AI adoption, Seagate is strategically positioned to address the storage demands of cloud providers, surveillance networks, SMBs, and enterprises.

The IMETA focus also fosters knowledge sharing and best-practice exchange between India and META markets, while enhancing Seagate’s relationships with channel partners and expanding its footprint into more countries within the 76-nation cluster. As data center capacity in the Middle East is set to triple by 2030, Seagate aims to grow in tandem—empowering the region’s digital infrastructure with scalable, reliable storage solutions.
