Netwrix Acquires CoSoSys

Netwrix announced the acquisition of CoSoSys and its product, Endpoint Protector, which discovers and secures sensitive data in motion and at rest on user workstations and laptops using content inspection, contextual scanning, and granular USB and peripheral control.

With this acquisition, Netwrix expands its endpoint offering to include data loss prevention (DLP). Endpoint Protector complements Netwrix’s modern data classification, access governance and endpoint management solutions, especially as related to the Identify and Protect functions of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. As a result, organizations worldwide will be even better able to protect their critical data without sacrificing employee productivity. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Netwrix customers will benefit from Endpoint Protector’s ability to protect sensitive data from unauthorized sharing and loss with functional parity across Windows, macOS and Linux endpoints. Netwrix customers will be able to reduce their attack surface by gaining insight into how their business-critical data is being shared, stored and processed on users’ endpoints.

At the same time, CoSoSys customers will be able to strengthen their security posture with Netwrix’s extensive product portfolio, which covers all five NIST functions. They will be able to identify and classify their sensitive data, prioritize their security efforts to protect what matters most, promptly detect and respond to suspicious activity, and recover faster from incidents.

“We are excited to strengthen our endpoint protection offering with DLP capabilities to further help organizations avoid the operational disruption, financial loss and reputational damage that results from data leakage. We are delighted to welcome CoSoSys to the Netwrix team, where together we will continue empowering customers to ensure their data is more secure tomorrow than it is today,” said Steve Dickson, CEO of Netwrix.

The new reality of hybrid and remote work has extended the attack surface and increased the risk of data exfiltration. Proper control over endpoints has become even more crucial. To better address this complex data security challenge, we are thrilled to unite Endpoint Protector with the Netwrix product portfolio,” said Kevin Gallagher, CEO of CoSoSys.

Complementary offerings that add value to customers are at the heart of any good acquisition. After several years collaborating side by side with the CoSoSys team to accelerate growth, we are thrilled to see them embark on their next chapter with Netwrix. CoSoSys’s deep expertise in data loss prevention will be a strong addition to Netwrix’s endpoint offering. said Joanne Yuan, Partner at private equity fund Turn/River, a strategic investor of CoSoSys
