In terms of autonomous vehicles, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has set a target for 25% of all trips in the city to be made using autonomous vehicles by 2030.
The Middle East is also investing heavily in smart city and connected car technologies. For instance, TOGG (Turkey’s Automobile Joint Venture Group) earlier this year announced its plan to manufacture 17,000 to 18,000 electric vehicles at its factory near Istanbul.
