In conversation with Channel Post MEA, the President for Europe & MEA at Vertiv, Giordano Albertazzi shared his experience about their participation at this year’s GITEX.
Why is it important for Vertiv to participate in GITEX this year?
GITEX is the biggest technology event in the region, and as a leading IT infrastructure provider, we believe it is a perfect place for us to showcase our products and solutions. This year, we are participating with our regional distribution partner, HiperDist.
Being one of the world’s leading technology provider, offering services and solutions for data centers, cloud, telecom, infrastructure and others, we think our presence at GITEX not only helped us in reaching out to the new customers and partners, but also provided us a opportunity to strengthen our relationship with our existing customers and partners.
What are the key products or solutions that you showcased at this year’s GITEX?
This year at GITEX, our prime focus was to highlight our integrated micro data center, which is a testimony to our ability not only to create solutions for the big infrastructure but also all-in-one solution combining power, cooling, monitoring, and racks for a smaller footprint. Vertiv micro-modular data centers tightly couple both the IT and supporting infrastructure facilities into a self-contained prefabricated unit.
What are the major trends influencing the Middle Eastern market?
Ever since the COVID 19 pandemic has stuck the world, several new trends have emerged and some of the major trends that we see in the forefront are Work from Anywhere, Cloud and 5G.
The work from anywhere or remote working has put a lot of demand for a distributed infrastructure and cloud, which has lead to increase in cloud adoption across the globe in various degrees. Though the transition to cloud is not new to the region, it has certainly accelerated since the pandemic. The off take for 5G has began in the region and EXPO 2020 Dubai is one great example for 5G adoption, which will now give flip to the further adoption of the technology in the region.
How would you describe your relations with channel?
Vertiv is a completely channel oriented company and channel partners are extremely important for us. We not only provide them with best in class technology products and solutions, but also assist them in the entire journey of taking our offerings to the market. In the process, we support the channel wherever it is required, be it logistics or anything, we are there for them. And, also our channel partner program provides them with enough resources and rewards to drive the market. Our comprehensive partner portal equipped with various tools, allows partners to manage their entire relationship with Vertiv.
How would you define the response from the visitors at the booth during the show?
During the show we received a strong response from the visitors and witnessed a large interest coming from the channel community, who visited us from various parts of the region. We were able to showcase them our latest solutions and technologies. We also updated all the visitors at our stand about our future plans and got a chance to understand their requirements that will help us establish better relationship with the them.
