Paul Collins, General Manager, Acer Middle East and Africa speaks with Channel Post MEA as he shares their strategy of displaying their latest devices at the exhibition halls of the Dubai World Trade Center and Emirates Towers Hotel during this GITEX.
What are the plans for Acer to be part of GITEX 2021 and why is it important for them to be part of the show?
We will be partnering with our distributor, Mindware to display Acer products in the exhibition halls of GITEX. And, this year we will have a strong presence at Emirates Towers Hotel, where we will host the press, customers, and partners for three days. We are also looking forward to receiving some international guests from the Acer headquarters and our European partner headquarters alongside a fantastic showcase of our latest products and technologies at our annual Acer Partner Week.
What products or solutions will you be exhibiting throughout the weeklong technology show?
We will be showcasing our Commercial and Education offering within our partner stand in the exhibition halls. We will also be displaying our latest products for the much-loved Predator, ConceptD, Acer Nitro, Acer Swift, Acer Spin, Acer Chromebook, Acer TravelMate and Acer Aspire series at Emirates Towers Hotel during our Acer Partner Week.
Which are the major trends influencing the consumer IT market in the Middle East?
During these unexpected times of constrained supply, I would say the major trends still dominating the market relate to the post-pandemic period. There is still much work, education and entertaining to be done from home, and many companies and end users are still trying to access products to meet these needs. As a result, we are seeing a robust demand for lifestyle, gaming, and commercial products across the region.
How does your offerings enable organisations to enhance their preparedness in the new normal?
We are finding that as organisations have been forced to upgrade to meet the needs of the new normal, they are looking at more robust and long-lasting technologies as replacements. We have seen increased demand for better battery life, improved ergonomics, SSD drive technologies and the latest processor configurations. This alongside a comprehensive range and an excellent service offering appears to be the new normal requirement that Acer is well placed to fulfil.
What are the special engagements or events are you planning to network and entertain with your partners and customers besides meeting them at GITEX?
We will be busy brainstorming a future activity calendar with our partners and customers during GITEX, ready for 2022.
What does your company hope to achieve at the end of the show?
It will be great to see customers and partners face to face after such a long break. Also, we have been developing many new products and technologies that we are excited to showcase. We have a new developer’s range, the Vero products which are the most eco-friendly products on the market, a ruggedized range called Enduro alongside our well-loved gaming, lifestyle and monitor offerings.
