Microsoft announces new Surface Laptop 4

Microsoft has officially expanded its Surface laptop line-up with the introduction of the Surface Laptop 4 series. The new Surface laptop series comes in two different screen sizes and also in Intel and AMD processors.

From the processor side of things, the Surface Laptop 4 will be offered with a choice of two different AMD Ryzen 4000 mobile chips. And from Intel, you get to choose between another two 11th generation processors. The AMD versions of the laptops come with semi-custom Ryzen processors with tweaks meant for the laptop. The choice of AMD processors includes the Ryzen 5 4680U and the Ryzen 7 4980U. From Intel, you get to choose between the Core i5-1135G7 and the Core i7-1185G7. Integrated graphics include Radeon for the AMD chips and Iris Xe for the Intel processors.

The new laptops also include a choice of 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB LPDDR4X RAM, which isn’t replaceable. However, the new laptops do come with replaceable 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB SSD storage options. The ports of the new laptops also include one USB-C, one USB-A port, one Surface Connect, and a headphone jack. The laptop also features a 720p camera, stereo speakers optimized with Dolby Atmos, dual far-field mics, WiFi 802.11ax, and Bluetooth 5.0.

 

The Surface Laptop 4 will come in 13.5-inch and 15-inch display models. While the 13.5-inch model features a screen resolution of 2256 x 1504, the 15-inch screen comes with a resolution of 2496 x 1664. Both the laptops come with a 3:2 aspect ratio and with 10-point multitouch capability.

The new Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 13.5-inch model comes in Ice Blue, Platinum, Sandstone, and Matte Black colors. And if you are a fan of the Alcantara keyboard, you will need to choose the Ice Blue and Platinum colors. However, the 15-inch model only comes in Platinum and Matte Black with a metal body. We have yet to receive the official release date and pricing of the new Surface Laptop 4 series in the UAE.
