Egypt, represented by Information Technology Industry Development Agency -ITIDA is participating in the 39th edition of GITEX Technology Week which kicks off today at the Dubai World Trade Center and lasts till 10 October.
This year marks the 15th consecutive participation for Egypt at Gitex where ITIDA is building up two official pavilions for the first time, one of which is located in Sheikh Saeed Hall in a 429 square meters space with 18 Egyptian companies.
The second pavilion embraces 10 Egyptian startups in Za’abeel Hall where they showcase their innovative tech offering and meet the decision makers and investors during “GITEX Future Stars”; one of the region’s biggest startup event and matchmaking platform.
Eng. Hala El Gohary, CEO of ITIDA, said “The Egyptian participation is part of our efforts to help local companies penetrate foreign markets and increase their exports of ICT products and related services”.
ITIDA offers a wide range of services that helps to strengthen the local IT firms’ capacities, attracting and servicing multinational IT companies. It expands IT businesses by providing unique access to several markets through sponsoring and taking part in the local, regional and international trade shows.
“The GCC market and the Middle East region in general, are among our target markets where the IT spending is projected to reach $ 160 billion by the end of this year.”, ITIDA CEO added.
The Egyptian companies participating at the event cover a wide spectrum of technologies including RFID solutions, Interactive Mobile Apps, Internet-of-Things, information security, systems integration, virtual and augmented reality, and 5G networks, and digital education content.
Egypt enjoys a worldwide reputation as a hub for IT and shared services and it maintains a growth trajectory in IT offshore services and its ICT sector is one of the top performer in the last 5 years and the fastest growing in 2019 with 13%.
