One of the world’s leading brand, Acer recently celebrated its 27th anniversary in the Middle East. Over the years, Acer has grown its imprint across the region, predominantly driven by gaming and consumer PCs, Chrome solutions and commercial business growth.
The company is transforming steadily with its existing operations while also investing for the future. A testament to this is Acer’s recently launched new range of devices and solutions for gamers, creators, families, students, and professionals announced at the next@acer press event held in New York earlier this month.
Speaking on the occasion, Paul Collins, MEA General Manager at Acer said “It has been a very exciting period of astounding growth and prosperity of the company and the region. The technology market is constantly evolving, and we make sure we help our customer continue to evolve with it by putting their needs first. As a result, our 2018 Middle East sales figures are proof of our success in the region having grown YoY by 15% in the UAE, in KSA by 10%, OGCC by 12%, Levant by 75% and Egypt by 15%.”
With nearly three decades in the region, Acer first began operations back in 1992 with just seven employees servicing a total of 15 countries between Middle East and Africa. Milestones over the years include the brand becoming the first company to introduce the ‘Collect & Drop’ service back in 1993 in the UAE for mobile technology customers, and in 1994 it opened the first assembly operation done by a multinational PC vendor in the region.
In addition, in 2006 Acer was awarded the Dubai Economy ‘Dubai Quality Award’ for Manufacturing and the following year, won a MRM Business Award for Manufacturing by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Acer was also part of the UAE Superbrands in 2003 and 2008.
