Firas Jadalla, Regional Sales Director – META, Genetec

What motivated your organization to participate at Intersec?

The Middle East is currently witnessing rapid change and growth in the region’s security landscape. In line with this, we are confident that participating at this year’s edition of Intersec will give us the opportunity to share how Genetec is helping its enterprise customers unify and simplify the many parts of physical security through an expanding ecosystem of hardware and software support. Intersec has positioned itself as a very important security event especially in our industry, and as such, we believe this is a very good platform in attracting a wide audience of visitors as well as potential opportunities from and throughout the Middle East.

Are you participating directly or with any of your partners?

We have a standalone presence this year, which we are seeing as a strategic opportunity to further increase awareness of Genetec’s diverse portfolio of products and services. During the show, our team of experts will be demonstrating Genetec’s latest innovations–which have been designed and developed to help enterprise, transportation, education, government and retail customers ‘Protect the Everyday.’

What do you expect to achieve with this participation?

At the event we have our team of experts to demonstrate our diverse portfolio of security solutions to meet the security needs of the growing Middle East market and help address the specific needs and demands for flexible, reliable and future-proof security solutions. As we witnessed an increase in cyber-attacks, privacy breaches, and poorly-designed software and equipment last year, we are keeping the conversation going at Intersec Dubai 2018–urging integrators and customers to establish trusted best practices that can keep its people and organisations safe and secure. At this year’s Intersec, we are showcasing how our new products and solutions work and are looking to meet attendees, including top decision makers across public agencies as well as enterprises. With our participation, we expect to increase awareness on the level of commitment we exert in protecting organizations and their security systems, people, data and assets.

How long have you been participating in Intersec and what is the reason for your continued involvement with the event?

We have been participating at Intersec for more than a decade now – 13 years to be exact. Intersec has been an effective and strategic platform for us to showcase our products and solutions. Intersec, with its global recognition, elevates Genetec’s strengths on its latest open-architecture, unified IP security solutions to the market. Acknowledging the growing need for unified security platform, our product display and demonstration will be a strong resilient proposition to the leading security consultants and clients who value their critical IT equipment and data centres. The physical display of our products and solutions on our stand at Intersec 2018 will be, one of the realistic touch-and-feel showcase, allowing our visitors to experience– ‘We help businesses protect the everyday’.

Which products are you showcasing during the show? Please share the details.

Genetec will present a wide range of solutions, providing the highest level of ‘cybersecurity’ and ‘hardening’ measures against cyber hacking and internal employee authorization and authentication. These are world-class advanced solutions, which can play a significant role in the efforts to deal with the changing nature of cyber threats and hazards.

Genetec will also showcase its latest unified security technology solutions and initiatives at Intersec Dubai 2018. This includes the unveiling of ‘Citigraf,’ a decision support system that unifies public safety operations across city departments for interagency collaboration. It collects, manages, and correlates information provided by integrated CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) systems, CCTV footage, ALPR data, RMS (Record Management Systems) and more. This highly innovative solution can assist law enforcement and security dispatch operators immediately identify and display the exact location of an event using icons on a map from a built-in geographical information system (GIS).

Genetec will also showcase Security Center 5.7, its unified, open architecture security flagship. This latest version allows users to make insight-driven decisions based on security and analytics data. The updated software can now automatically identify edge devices and cameras that need firmware updates, helping assure network protection, integrity, and ‘Security of Security.’

Will you be scouting for new partners during the event or you will be focused only on end-users?

We will absolutely be on the lookout for new partners to work with–exploring potential opportunities and joint collaborations within the industry. Our company’s key objective is to help safeguard and protect systems against cyberattacks. We are working with other manufacturers to collaborate with our system integrators, consultants and end users so that best practices are followed and adopted accordingly. However, we will also be looking to reach out to end-users.

What can visitors expect from you and why should they visit your stand?

Visitors can share insights and best practices with our well-trained team, when implementing a coordinated and unified security vision within a multi-stakeholder model. They can also learn how to leverage their existing system and infrastructure to improve business operational efficiencies. Moreover, with the upcoming implementation of European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), visitors will have the opportunity to interact with our team, and discuss in detail the impact of the changing landscape and GDPR on their security operations.
