Security starts with visibility

Channel Post speaks with Alaa Hadi, Regional Director – High Growth Markets at Arbor Networks on their participation at GITEX this year.

Alaa Hadi, Regional Director, Arbor Networks

Why did you choose to participate in GITEX Technology Week 2017?

The main goal of Arbor Networks’ participation at GITEX this year is to meet important key end users in the region and network with existing customers and partners.

Arbor Networks has particpated at GITEX for many years. It is a premier technology event in the region and this is a show we do not want to miss as it is a credible platform for the entire technology ecosystem, from vendors to partners to customers.  At GITEX, we’ll be helping businesses understand the threat landscape and discussing best practice defense specific to their needs.

What will you be showcasing at GITEX Tech Week this year?

Arbor’s product portfolio is focused on network-centric security solutions for DDoS attacks and advanced threats. We have network visibility and DDoS mitigation solutions for both service provider and enterprise networks, as well as a platform that helps businesses prove and resolve advanced threats quickly, reducing the risk to their business.

Our products are built on the fundamental premise that security starts with visibility. Our solutions are based on flow instrumentation and packet capture to deliver broad and deep intelligence into network traffic. We also believe that visibility needs to enable action, via intuitive workflows, powerful analytics and real-time mitigation of attacks.

We will also be showcasing the integration between Netscout’s latest next generation, real-time information platform, ISNG, and network threat analysis solution, Arbor Networks Spectrum. This solution brings NETSCOUT’s patented smart data technology to advanced threat detection, delivering pervasive visibility for the entire enterprise. This technology will help NETSCOUT customers to:

  • Leverage common service delivery infrastructure in physical, virtual and cloud environments that gives security teams pervasive visibility across users, applications, protocols, and network flow data.
  • Provide security teams with superior intelligence based on the high-resolution wire data using either dedicated or shared ISNG collectors.
  • Take advantage of smart data from the combined solution to expose and extract the key potential threat activity across the network, reducing mean time to resolution of critical security threats.

What is your expectations from this year’s GITEX Technology Week?

GITEX Tech Week is always a place to see and learn about what’s happening at the cutting edge of innovation. I’ll be interested in learning about Artificial Intelligence and machine learning and how they are being practically applied today, and what potential they hold for the future. They certainly have security applications, as well as major implications for all of our customers.
