Channel Post Gregg Petersen, Regional Sales Vice President, MEA, Veeam Software on creating new and meaningful partnerships at GITEX Technology Week to drive business.
Why did you choose to participate in GITEX Technology Week 2017? What are you most excited about GITEX Technology Week and what are your expectations from this year’s participation?
GITEX is the place to be in October – it offers a great platform for vendors, partners and customers to get together and share ideas. Over the past six years we have used GITEX as an opportunity to showcase our products and capabilities and to meet with both existing and prospective clients and partners. I can attribute much of our success to the relationships we have built and fostered at the event and I expect GITEX 2017 to be no different. Every year we have meaningful and memorable interactions where we build relationships as well as a pipeline of business for the forthcoming year.
Do you have standalone presence at the event or will you be showcasing with your partner(s)?
Yes, we have a standalone booth CLD-16 in Hall 6.
What are you showcasing at GITEX Technology Week 2017?
At GITEX we intend educating CIOs and IT managers about the need to re-think their IT strategies and service models and move away from legacy backup and recovery solutions as they virtualize their infrastructures and move to the cloud. Availability Solutions for the modern data centre is the way forward and is central to digital transformation.
We will demonstrate the NEW Veeam Availability Suite v10 that bridges the ‘Availability Gap’ and drives business continuity and agility to new levels.
What technology trends have you seen in the Middle East and Africa market?
In terms of IT trends, data center consolation and virtualization are big trends here in the Middle East & Africa region and will have a big impact on the regional ICT industry over the next few years. Veeam is uniquely positioned to help customers transition to these technologies. There is still a skills shortage in the region that doesn’t allow people to plan and then implement a successful Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy. Secondly the cost of bandwidth and/or rentals prohibits people from moving forward with any DR strategy. This is one of the reasons we are seeing an increased interest in Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and Backup as a Service (BaaS). Veeam is uniquely placed with Veeam Cloud Connect solution to help partners offer these services to their clients.
Do you have any plans to launch any new products, solutions or technologies at GITX Technology Week this year?
GITEX Trade show attendees will get an opportunity to learn about the various innovations in the NEW Veeam Availability Suite v10 that offers a complete end-to-end Availability and cross-cloud data management platform for enterprise customers by supporting any workloads (virtual, physical or cloud) on any infrastructure in Multi-Cloud and Hybrid Cloud environments (private, public, managed or SaaS).
Veeam Availability Suite delivers a fundamentally new kind of solution by providing non-stop business continuity, digital transformation agility along with analytics and visibility.
