Samsung’s New Galaxy Note 8 Will be Available Starting September 21 in the Region

Samsung has launched the much anticipated Galaxy Note 8 in the regional market. During the event, Samsung Gulf Electronics announced receipt of the Guinness World Record certificate for the World’s Biggest LED Structure with digital signage engulfing the Burj Park, Downtown Dubai, and bringing the Galaxy Note 8 launch to consumers throughout the UAE.

The Galaxy Note 8 comes packed with a bigger Infinity Display, an S Pen to communicate in more personal ways, and a dual camera setup at the back of the device. “The Galaxy Note 8 is designed for the way consumers lead their lives and lean on technology today. We appreciate the great passion of our Note users. Hence, we came up with an innovation for those doers who want to think big and do big,” said Tarek Sabbagh, Head of IT & Mobile (IM) Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics. “With the latest features including the Infinity Display to the enhanced S Pen and a powerful Dual Camera, the Galaxy Note 8 lets people do things that they never thought was possible.”

In addition to its incredible features, the new Galaxy Note 8 also enables users through “Samsung Members” – a preloaded app offering experiences linked to Gulf consumers’ passion points, through a new partnership with Marriott International Middle East and Africa and Cleartrip. Consumers who purchase the Galaxy Note 8 in the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain will enjoy exclusive “Samsung Members” offers from Marriott hotel, restaurants and spas and Cleartrip.

The Note 8 comes with a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 2960-by-1440 resolution. At the back, the phone packs in a dual camera system which consists of a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens. Both the lens offers OIS.

In terms of dimensions, the phone measures 162.5-by-74.8-by-8.6mm and weighs 195-gms. The phone is also IP68 certified for dust and water resistance. Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa core 64bit, 10nm processor.

The phone also offers 6GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage, which can be further expanded to up to 128GB using a micro SD card. The phone supports dual SIMs and comes with a 3,300mAh battery. It also supports fast charging through QC 2.0.

The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with Samsung’s very own skin on top of it. The phone will be available starting September 21, 2017, for a price of AED 3,399.
