DarkMatter announces participation in GISEC

DarkMatter, the international cyber security firm headquartered in the UAE, will be participating in the upcoming Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference (GISEC), taking place from 21 to 23 May at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. DarkMatter participates in the event for the second consecutive year, and will be present as the official Cyber Security Innovation Partner.

DarkMatter is set to make a number of major announcements related to the firm’s mission to offer end-to-end cyber security across digital networks and add resilience to digital transformation. The firm will also take the opportunity to share its thought leadership through a number of speaking opportunities including Faisal Al Bannai defining DarkMatter’s perspective on cyber resilience as it relates to Smart Cities; Eddie Schwartz, EVP of Cyber Services, delivering a presentation on Decreasing the Failure Rate of Modern Cyber Security Programmes; and Robert Statica, Senior Vice President of Technology & Research speaking on Top Security Communications Systems.

Harshul Joshi, Senior Vice President of Cyber Advisory Services will also participate in the speaking engagements, as part of a Smart Cities panel; while Rabih Dabboussi, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Business Development will deliver a presentation on Assessing Cyber Security Considerations for a Safe and Secure Connected World.

Given the rising complexity of cyber security threats, many governments and enterprises are turning to third-party experts to help them raise their level of resilience to attack. According to global research firm Gartner, by 2019 50 per cent of all security operations work in large and mid-size enterprises will be conducted out of an owned or a shared security operations centre, up from 15 per cent in 2015.

Faisal Al Bannai, DarkMatter Founder and CEO said, “Cyber threats are increasingly complex, and the modern world’s digital evolution continues to expand our threat planes. As the leading cyber security firm in the region, we believe that industry events such as GISEC are critical to helping decision makers identify and understand their vulnerabilities, while demonstrating how they can better protect themselves from advancing cyber attacks.”

GISEC 2017 is expected to bring together more than 6,000 delegates, including government officials, leading corporate executives and entrepreneurs to exchange knowledge and insights from industry experts on how best to protect their businesses from rapidly evolving cyber threats.
