With flexible work arrangements on the rise and security breaches more prevalent than ever, HP spoke with thousands of SMBs, enterprises, IT decision makers and end users to better understand their individual pain points and desires.
The company has now come out with its premium commercial x2 device: the Elite x2 1012 G2.
With a sleek 2-in-1 design and advanced security for peace-of-mind, the Elite x2 1012 G2 contains features such as:
- 7th generation Core-I processors and optional vPro (same processing power as a traditional notebook)
- Up to 16 GB of RAM and quadrupled the storage of the first generation Elite x2
- At about 8 mm thin, it’s the same thinness as a #2 pencil
- More than 10 hours of battery life, and fast-charging capability that can charge the battery halfway in 30 minutes
- 12.3-inch (31.2cm) display is both stunning and durable with bonded Corning Gorilla Glass 4
According to HP, as 62 percent of end users work from more than one location, the Elite x2 1012 G2 solves the need for reliable connectivity, all day battery life, and a thin and light design. This latest version of HP’s Elite commercial detachable was designed with versatility in mind for highly mobile executives and other professionals who desire the power of a notebook and the flexibility of a tablet, as this 2-in-1 detachable’s flexible, lightweight body allows for productivity on the go, easily transforming from notebook to tablet with a detachable keyboard and stylus pen for making annotations, taking notes, and capturing signatures.
HP also said that an average company faces 106 targeted cyber-attacks per year, which is why the Elite x2 makes no security sacrifices. Mobile users are protected with multi–layered enterprise–class security and malware protection with HP Sure Start, HP BIOSphere, HP WorkWise, Power-on Authentication and Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0.) Additionally, secure and quick user authentication with a dual biometric option is built-in. With Windows 10, HP’s new face authentication provides a more personal and secure way to sign in, meaning busy executives can skip entering complex passwords and instead login by simply looking at the screen or with a quick tap on the fingerprint reader. Also, the HP Elite x2 offers superior manageability and security with the ability for end users and IT to easily service and upgrade key components to extend the device lifecycle and minimize repair-related downtime.
The Elite x2 1012 G2 offers best in class collaboration to ease customers’ ability to work seamlessly with others, regardless of geographic location. As the first commercial detachable to be certified for Skype for Business, the Elite x2 includes HP Noise Cancellation and Audio Boost software for improved voice clarity, even when being used in a noisy office or café environment. The device also has an improved inking experience so that the HP Active Pen feels like a real pen. HP also added simultaneous pen and touch capability and improved the palm sensitivity, providing a smoother writing experience than before.
The Elite x2 1012 G2 will be available in EMEA in July at a starting price of €1,099 (AED 4390 approx.).
